Installing the Conductor Client tools: Linux

Install CentOS/RHEL

Check that you have downloaded the correct version for your distribution. You can check which release you have by running:
cat /etc/redhat-release
Conductor RPM packages are named for the release they support:
RHEL/CentOS 6.x = conductor-vx.x.x-0.el6.x86_64.rpm
RHEL/CentOS 7.x = conductor-vx.x.x-0.el7.x86_64.rpm

Install the package

From a Window Manager
Double click the downloaded RPM file to invoke the Package Installer. Click Install

You will be prompted for the root password

From the command line
sudo rpm -ivh /path/to/conductor-vx.x.x-0.elx.x86_64.rpm

Install Ubuntu

Check that you have downloaded the correct version for your distribution. You can check which release you have by running:
lsb_release -c
Conductor Ubuntu packages are named after the ubuntu codename:
Ubuntu 12.04 LTS = conductor_vx.x.x-precise.deb
Ubuntu 14.04 LTS = conductor_vx.x.x-trusty.deb
Ubuntu 16.04 LTS = conductor_vx.x.x-xenial.deb
Install the package
From a Window Manager
Double click the downloaded DEB file to invoke the Ubuntu Software manager

You will be prompted for an administrative password

From the command line
sudo dpkg -i /path/to/conductor_vx.x.x-x.deb
